360 Degrees Excavator Training
This course is suitable for anyone who is required to use an Excavator, whether they have never used the truck before, have some experience or need refresher training.
NOVICE – a dedicated learning programme which builds up confidence. Trainees will learn all the theory knowledge associated with this truck, how to check it over to make sure it is safe (pre shift check) as well as how to operate to the correct safety standards outlined by ITSSAR and recognised by the HSE. A sample of some of the lessons would include:-
The Health and Safety at Work Act including the Approved Code of Practice (L117), PUWER & LOLER regulations
* Rated Capacity
* Operators Safety Code – Do’s and Don’ts
* Excavator Stability, ground conditions etc.
* Vehicle Loading
* Refuelling Procedures
* Attachment Training eg. Quick Hitch etc.
Candidates will be given all the necessary information to support them through this course, including a comprehensive manual. The course duration is three days for one person, four days for two or five days for three.
EXPERIENCED – for those already operating the truck on a regular basis but have never received formal training. This course will make sure operators are following all the correct procedures but the course duration is less. One day for one candidate, two days for two candidates, three days for three candidates. (This is subject to experience level).
SAFETY REFRESHERS – this course is for candidates who already hold a certificate. Whether you have one, two or three candidates this is a days course.
CONVERSION – for those who already hold a basic training certificate for any other excavator eg. Mini Digger it is possible to convert skills across to this truck within one to two days.
On successful completion of the above courses, our customer will be issued with all training records and certificates as well as uploaded onto the ITSSAR TOPS Database as required by the HSE. So you can be rest assured that all paperwork will be in order for audit purposes. Highgate Training will keep copies of all training records for six years.
